Greetings friends! This year’s gpTRAC Regional Telehealth Forum was a great success, and we have YOU to thank for it! Over 100 people attended 18 presentations and panel discussions and visited with 20 vendors over the day and a half conference last month in Minneapolis.
Keynote lectures from Carl Taylor on “Connecting with a Purpose” and Rob Sprang on the Future of telehealth and healthcare
Modeling telehealh business strategies including healthcare cost savings plans, sustainable telehealth workflow solutions, and the development and propogation of innovation centers
Exploring “out of the box” telehealth strategies including desktop video consultations to nursing home residents, telemedicine and the Department of Defense, and Project Access Epilepsy in rural Nebraska
Telehealth implementation strategies including the use telehealth for chronic disease management and diabetes management, and success stories from U of MN’s Amplatz Childrens Hospital and Fairview’s Telemedicine ICU Hub, and
And supporting telehealth strategies including preparing providers to use telehealth technology, smartphone-telehealth mobility, and the importance of broadband and the FCC’s healthcare connect program.
Additionally, participants heard from two group panels on home telehealth solutions and mental health care solutions, and participated in a post-forum grant writing workshop sponsored by Polycom.
Every individual brought with them their organization’s latest and best telehealth strategies, and the collaborative discussion and learning that took place as those ideas spread was inspiring. We would especially like to thank this year’s sponsors, exhibitors and presenters for their contributions to the 2013 gpTRAC Regional Forum. We look forward to continuing to support the Great Plains Region throughout the coming year and have already begun planning next year’s Regional Telehealth Forum… details to come!
